Your Must-Haves!

There are just too many type of shoes in the market to be worn every day of the year. So what do people like me and you, the mass market buy? Are you going to spend on ALL of them? Let's see, you'd probably want a pair of

Converse, ballerina flats (in different colours), wedges (of many heights and many colours), strappy heels, espadrilles, boots, flip flops of all sorts, crocs, diamente sandals, silver sandals, black sandals, brown/gold sandals, peep-toe pumps, patent pumps, Cage shoes, gladiator sandals, etc.

I would mention more, but i think that should cut it. Anyway, as I was saying, even Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo thinks there are 4 pairs of footwear that you NEED. Only 4. You heard me right. Here are the 4 essential footwears every girl/lady should own;

1. Ballerina Flat- forever kicky, they can work for evening or day and always look chic.
2. Metallic Strappy Sandals- Gold or Silver, they can work with mostly everything, from jeans to
a gown, and can usually work around the clock.
3. Plain Knee-High Boot- a winter must. (But not for us, Malaysians)
4. Great Black Pump- low-cut on the upper and as high as you can handle the heel. A great pair can take you from the office to the streets!

And an additional pair; A Jeweled Sandal!

So you see, you don't NEED to spend a fortune on these few pairs of shoes, you just got to work them right, and walk with your swagger! You'll turn heads, for sure. (Just make sure you turn heads for the right reasons!)

Label Much?

Are you the kind of girl/ guy who put labels first? Do you think having the most expensive item is better than a cheaper range of almost-similar goods? I can't deny that i DO look at brands first, at times. So today, i was shopping around for anything. I didn't go out with a mission to find the perfect wallet for myself, but it was more like.. 'whatever comes my way'. So I went to Jaspal, Roxy, Guess?, and Paris Hilton, just to name a few. I also had Liz Claiborne wallets in my head. The prices are pretty reasonable, you see. My aunty got one from Liz Claiborne recently and she thinks it isn't very good just because the wallet comes with many compartments, but when you fill them up with cards, it gets rather hard to close. So I looked at other places. Oh yes, I went to Coach to check out their prices (you can get them way cheaper in the US!). Every store I went to, I saw something that caught my eye. I went to Guess?, i saw this pretty wallet that's moderately big and it has a pretty bow on it. That one's about RM179. Then I went to Jaspal (they're having sale), I saw a pretty denim-materialed purse with purple lining, priced at about RM 120. I went to Roxy, I saw pretty wallets too. They are cheaper if compared to others. And having a member card won't kill you, it'll save your cheap butts! I thought about it, then moved on. Then I decided to just walk into Paris Hilton. The purses look a lot like Guess?, cheaper-looking version. If you asked me, I think one third of what the store has to offer are pretty. The others should be reconsidered because they are overpriced for such looking goods. So they were having a SALE, and tell me, who doesn't enjoy the sale season? I saw some latest wallets and one which wasn't too bad, but it's rather old. I decided to give it a thought. And at the end, I bought one of the wallets. Good price? I don't know. RM 140. You tell me :) But what's done is done. I can't regret buying it, can I?

Brings us back to the main question, and the main point of this post. Do we look at brands FIRST? You see, I could've gotten a cheaper wallet from Roxy, but no, just because Paris Hilton sounds better and exclusive, I got it there. Should this be the way? Share your opinions and thoughts, and don't be shy.

YSL Cage Shoe

Yves Saint Laurent made the "Cage Shoes" the newest IT item. People actually pay a fortune to wear shoes that make their feet look like they are stuck in a cage. So you get why it's called "Cage Shoes" now. These YSL babies are made obvious to be compatible with its name. Designers like Stella McCartney and Barbara Bui too designed some Cage Shoes, but they don't look as 'Cage-y' as YSL's. So what do you think about the newest IT thing in fashion world? yes, no? Too edgy for your liking? Too runway? Or maybe you're good enough to pull this of. Personally, I wouldn't wear it out. Unless you are Beyonce or a mannequin in a high-fashion boutique, stay off it and stick with your peep-toes, sexy red patent pumps, beachy espadrille wedges, and ballerina flats! I know many of you think it's good to take fashion risks. But will you REALLY where them out? And even if you do, where to? What event would allow you to wear such "unique" shoes?

"Fashion is made to become unfashionable" - Coco Chanel

I guess by that, Coco is referring to fashion items such as the "Cage Shoe". Yes, it is fashion. And to me, IT IS UNFASHIONABLE. I guess that's how it works here in the crazy world of fashion. You just never know what good or bad is.

So let's turn the table around and see what you people think of this. Drop a comment here or on my CBox, anything that pleases you :)

Welcome!

I've been waiting to start this blog with much anticipation.
I am new at fashion blogging, but i will try my hardest to do well at this.
But the whole point of this blog, as stated at my "About Me" column, is to state me opinion.
Other than that, I also want to start writing and my first step before really stepping into the cruel yet glamorous world of fashion.
As you can see, I am still pretty clueless on how to start here.
But bare with me, yeah..
Stil learning here :)
